Playa del Cristo is a 680 metre cove on the western edge of Estepona, tucked in beside the port and sheltered from the wind.

That shelter is what makes it different from the long beaches along this coast: the water stays calm and warm, there are no waves to speak of, and families with small children come here instead of la Rada.

There are trees along the back of the sand for shade, showers, changing rooms and toilets, and the beach is set up for visitors with limited mobility, with amphibious wheelchairs and assisted bathing through the summer.

The marina and the fishing port are about five hundred metres away.
