Playa de Santa Amalia is an urban beach of dark, fine-grained sand in Fuengirola, on the Costa del Sol, beside the seafront promenade. It is a wide stretch of soft sand with low waves, and the water stays clean, though it can feel cool.

Sunbeds are available to hire, and visitors can also bring their own. Services include showers, toilets, lifeguards and chiringuitos, and paddleboards can be rented on the beach. Access on foot is easy, either along the sand or from the promenade. Behind the beach run the promenade and the town, with restaurants, hotels and shops, and there is a car park across the road. The Sohail Castle, an 11th-century fortress, stands nearby.
