Chiringuito Tropical sits directly on the sand at Playa de la Rada, a short walk from the seafront promenade and the old town of Estepona.

Sunbeds are laid out in front, and the cooking happens out in the open behind them. A fire burns low in the sand with sardines threaded onto canes over it, turned by hand until the skin blisters. Alongside them come grilled sea bass and squid, paella and arroz negro, and fried fish by the portion.

There is covered seating for the middle of the day, when the sun is at its hardest, and the tables sit close enough to the water to hear it.

Unfriendly service, the fries was at least fried 3 times.... they did not bring what we ordered but of course they wanted to charge. Shame

Great chiringuito where you can stop either for a drink or for lunch / dinner or for a sunbed ! Fantastic grilled seafood and fish by Manuel, especially the famous pata de pulpo ! Manolo is very welcoming and the mood is relaxed, as one should expect from La Costa del Sol !

Great food and drinks! Friendly and welcoming service. Best chiringuito in Estepona. Definitely worth a visit. Always on our list of places to eat when in Estepona.

Was served gone off calamari, the smell alone was disgusting and couldn't even eat a full piece. Left without eating any more and myself and my partner both had an upset stomach all evening. Avoid at all costs, go to the next one down

Playa de la Rada is Estepona's main beach, running for about 2.5 kilometres of uninterrupted grey sand right through the centre of town. It holds a Blue Flag, with lifeguards and first aid posts through the summer, and facilities spread along its length: toilets, showers, footwashes and adapted beach chairs for visitors with limited mobility. Sun loungers and parasols are rented all along the sand, and a string of chiringuitos serves espetos de sardinas grilled over the coals, paellas and fried fish. Behind the beach runs the Paseo Marítimo, a landscaped promenade lined with palms and flower beds, which makes the whole stretch walkable from anywhere in central Estepona.
