Sandy Beach

Coco Novo Beach sits on the La Loma stretch of Playa de la Barrosa in Chiclana de la Frontera, at the Novo Sancti Petri end, looking straight out at the Sancti Petri islet and its castle. The design is Mediterranean, white and blue, spread over a wide open piece of sand.

You can take a hammock or one of the Balinese daybeds for the day, and there's a massage service if you want to make more of it. Access is easier than at most beach clubs here, a paved road runs down to the entrance so there are no steps, and the venue has its own parking.

The kitchen is run by chef Kiko Sayago and leans on what comes out of Cádiz, wild red tuna from the local almadraba, razor clams, shrimp fritters, fried fish, oxtail montaditos and grilled meats. Live music plays on the terrace through the afternoon, mostly jazz and chill out, and the sunset is the reason a lot of people stay on. After dark the lighting and the music change and it turns into a place to spend the evening.

Playa de la Barrosa

Playa de la Barrosa is a true gem of the Costa de la Luz, stretching out with miles of soft, golden sand that feels incredible underfoot. It’s the kind of place that feels both vast and welcoming, recently renewed to ensure everything looks pristine and clean. Whether you’re looking for a lively spot or a quiet corner to yourself, the beach is big enough that you can always find your own perfect patch of paradise. It’s widely considered a must-see for anyone visiting the region.

The facilities here are top-notch, making it an easy choice for a full day out. You’ll find everything from convenient showers to the peace of mind provided by the Red Cross stations. For those who love a bit of action, the waves are great for surfing, while the shoreline is dotted with fantastic restaurants and "chiringuitos" where you can grab a cold drink or fresh seafood. It’s a versatile destination that works just as well for a fun trip with friends as it does for a relaxed family outing.

As the day winds down, make sure to stick around for the sunset—it’s a breathtaking experience that paints the sky in stunning colors. While parking can be a bit of a challenge and Sundays tend to draw a crowd, the vibrant atmosphere is part of the charm. Just arrive early or embrace the local buzz, and you’ll quickly see why this beach is so highly recommended. It has all the conditions for a perfect, sun-soaked day by the sea.
