Chiringuito El Tesorillo

4.2

Pebbles beach

Chiringuito El Tesorillo sits on the sand of the small El Tesorillo cove, at the Velilla end of Almuñécar on Granada's Costa Tropical. Tables are placed almost at the water's edge, looking out over the cove, the neighbouring beaches and the old stone watchtower above.

Rice is at the heart of the menu, with paellas including a vegetable version with asparagus and broad beans. Crisp octopus with hollandaise, fresh fish and a range of non-fish options round out the menu, and there are pizzas and pasta too. Sunbeds are available on the beach in season.

Live entertainment is a regular fixture in the evenings, while the mood stays relaxed and family-friendly throughout.

Playa El Tesorillo

Playa El Tesorillo is a small cove in the Velilla-Taramay district of Almuñécar, 80 metres long and 55 wide, between Playa Velilla and Playa del Pozuelo. The surface is gravel and dark sand, and an old watchtower stands on the rocky headland beside it.

Two chiringuitos sit on the same sand, UHA and Restaurante El Tesorillo, with loungers and parasols for hire between them, showers, lifeguard cover and step-free access. Nautical sports run from the beach, and there is urban parking and a bus stop nearby. It is small and lively, and draws a young crowd.
