Excellent friendly service from staff and faultless throughout our stay. Had some poor weather, the hotel opened up its inside bar to accommodate guests, but indoor space is limited in this hotel, queues for dinner and now breakfast as outdoor terrace closed. On plus side, lovely pool, plenty of sun loungers. Decent walk-in shower, comfortable beds and bathrobes. On downside, room needs more space in bathroom for toiletries, hangars and better positioned mirrors for dressing, drying hair etc. Buffet has a large selection of food, but there is no labelling as suitable for Vegetarians and non veggie breakfast omelettes are cooked in the same saucepans which restricts choice even more.

The hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean and the cliffs. The hotel team was great, but the overall standard of the hotel is at most three stars. It was disappointing that upon arrival there wasn’t a single bottle of water in the room, even though we had booked a deluxe room. Apparently, to receive water you have to be registered in their Barceló Club. There were very few hangers. The furnishings are older, and there is limited space in the bathroom. The balcony is missing a table, and the chairs were torn. The bathtub drain did not work properly. At breakfast you are mostly served pre-prepared or processed items. The pastry section consists only of defrosted products. On the other hand, I would like to praise the older lady who prepares made-to-order omelets every morning — she was truly excellent. The biggest disappointment was that they did not allow us a late check-out, even though the hotel was half empty. We asked to stay just one hour longer, but the receptionist automatically said no without any consideration. The location is amazing, but the hotel still has a lot to improve.

First time in Canaries and so pleased that we chose Barcelo Santiago. Great place to stay. Only down side was the violinist; you will need ear plugs and paracetamol ;) Main reason for review is to mention cycling facilities. The bike storage room is good but it is very small compared to similar hotels in Majorca for example. The room was empty to begin with but a large group arrived and swamped it, so I ended up leaving my bike on my room balcony, which was no issue for the hotel and was better for me.

We stayed at Barceló Santiago for a week and had a wonderful experience. The ocean view from our room was stunning, the bed was very comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. The sound of the waves could be heard from the room, but it was relaxing and did not disturb our sleep. We slept extremely well. The hotel grounds were beautiful, well maintained, and very clean. The pool area was peaceful and inviting, perfect for relaxing. The spa offered treatments and massages in a calm and pleasant environment. Breakfast and dinner options were varied and suitable for different dietary needs. The themed dinners added nice variety. The only small downside was the long coffee queues at breakfast. Providing hot water for tea separately could help improve this. Overall, a fantastic stay. Highly recommended. ❤️

In general - it's not terrible, but definitely not what you would expect from a 4-stars hotel. Not worth the price. We found 2 cockroaches (!) in the room. The hotel could use some renovation. There were no hangers in the room, in the bathroom there were two above the bidet, nothing next to the shower. There was no room for cosmetics in the shower, no toilet brush, the toilet itself was in a very small area (good luck if you are a bigger person). Mirror right in front of the bed - terrible idea. No table, but there was a small desk. The shower was quite big and comfortable. Cosmetics were okay, but not great, probably cheap. At night we could hear every word from the caraoke downstairs or a nearby bar, the window was also moving and making a lot of noise due to the wind (they fixed it when we talked to the front desk). We didn't pay for a view and we still could see the ocean from the balcony, which was a nice surprise. Food was quite tasty, fresh and offered a lot of choices, different options each day, including things that were cooked right before serving. Some things were over/undercooked or too salty, some were amazing, so to sum up - not great, not terrible. My main problem was lack of information, labels were mixed or non-existent, no information about allergens at all. Service: Most employees are super nice and helpful, some not that professional (talking to a client in English and at the same time gossiping with other employees in Spanish). Pool: Three, a small one was heated. Incredible views. Parking: Free spots on the street but difficult to find. Paid ones 20 euros/day. Location: Great, right next to the ocean.
