**Playa de El Velerín ** lies about seven kilometres east of Estepona, on the road towards Marbella, and is one of the quietest stretches of coast in the municipality.

What sets it apart are the pines. A thick band of trees runs the whole length behind the sand, separating the beach from everything inland, and in places tall reeds come right down to the shore. The sand is dark and turns rocky in stretches.

The old Velerín watchtower stands just behind the beach, now with a five thousand square metre park laid out around it.
